Throwing a birthday party for your child can be stressful and time consuming. So start two or three weeks in advance and send your invitations to the kids a couple of weeks before the party. Cut out stars from a piece of paper, all the same size, and glue a stick between each two of them so that they resemble a magic wand. These are the invitations and can say, "Come join the "magic" of our party."
You can have hats for each child with his or her name on it and hand out small treats as to each of them as they arrive. You can hide small stuffed animals around the house or the yard and tell the kids that Old MacDonald lost his farm animals and needs their help to find them.
If you know someone who does these things, you might consider having a puppet show. Since kids all like bubbles, you could give them small bubble blowers and watch them run around popping the bubbles. You could use child safe paint and paint each of the children's faces with noses and whiskers. Or maybe even consider supplying some paints and brushes for the kids to have an art contest.
When the guests leave, give each of them a small favor. This doesn't have to be expensive. Kids like just about everything so a small stuffed animal as a thank you for coming will probably suffice. If the children have a good time, you can bet they'll be talking about the party in school. Your child will love being the center of attention and so will you.
