Pets, Pets Everywhere!

In case it is not obvious from the posts on this website, I am an animal person. I have 4 big dogs and 5 tiny cats. So, I was thrilled to find a great resource on the web for an explanation of the reasoning behind having pets when you have children. In addition to the benefits extolled by the article having pets with children teaches them to have a respect for life and eventually teaches them respect for death. One other thing that happens with pet ownership is that it abolishes fear of animals and generates self confidence in a child. I see it in my children and their friends. The children who have animals are so much more self confident that it is worth the addition of a pet to your home.
