Crafts With Play-Doh

Play-Doh is the classic child’s moldable toy. The bright colors, smell, and the fun texture make this toy one of the most popular toys since the time it was created up till now. There are many different things you can do with Play-Doh. It is more than just a toy, but also a creative way to make a craft, simple because it is so versatile and useful.

A very popular craft used in schools is the map making project. This is where you can pick any geographic formation and make a map out of Play-Doh. The children can mix and match colors so it looks like the real thing. Make sure when you do this that you put it on a sturdy object, like a plate or a cardboard cutout. Then let it dry so that it cannot be remolded. A very common project that you can do with Play-Doh is to make a mold of something. Get some molds of animals and put the Play-Doh inside of it. Then after the impression is made in the Play-Doh, you can pull the Play-Doh out of the mold. Let it dry by keeping it out in the air. Then you can repeat the process with different animal molds and your child can enjoy all of his colorful animal figurines.

Seeing as how children just love putting anything and everything in their mouth, a good project to do with your child is to make edible Play-Doh. You can find a variety of recipes on the Internet and all you have to do is choose which one will taste better. Then after you have baked Play-Doh from scratch, you and your child can make anything you want with it and eat it when you are done.
