Importance of Pets for Stay-at Home Moms

There are a good number of ways that a pet in your home, can help if you are a stay at home mom. Granted, if you have a new puppy it might take some extra work at first, but in the long run the effort will be well worth the joy and yes, help your pet can give you.

Pets raised with children usually love being around the children, they like to play and rough house with them, which will give you a little time away from your child to do the dishes or the laundry or whatever other chore you need to get done.

A dog is also fiercely loyal and protective of the children in its family. You can allow your child to play out in the yard, (fenced) and the dog will bark and warn you if something is happening that shouldn’t be.

Another advantage of having a dog, for instance, is he will generally need to have a walk at least once a day. That will provide you with the opportunity to get out and do some walking of your own. Helping you to exercise, relax and rejuvenate yourself. All these things combined will help you get through the day.

For the older child, taking care of the pet, feeding, cleaning up after, walking is a good way to start teaching your child some responsibility, which is a good thing too.
