Tips for Raising Toddlers

The number one concern for toddlers is safety. Toddlers are naturally curious, and they are always looking for new things to touch, taste, and experience. It is important for all breakable and sharp and/or potentially hazardous items to be put up somewhere safe and high out of the toddler's reach. You will also want to put up small items and things that your toddler can put in their mouth and choke on.

Another major thing when it comes to toddlers is their diet and nutrition. Toddlers are always wanting to eat what mommy and daddy are eating, but sometimes, the things that we as parents eat may not be what our toddler needs or can handle. That is why it is important to have a long talk with your toddlers pediatrician and discuss your toddlers nutritional needs.

The most important things to remember when it comes to potty training is patience and encouragement. Your toddler wants to please you and make you happy by going to the potty, but if you get anxious then they may get anxious or nervous and not be able to go, or even sit on the seat.

Last but not least, every growing child requires love and attention. The mind of a toddler has been compared to a sponge. This means that they soak up and mimic the actions that they see going on around them from day to day. That is why it is important for us as parents to not only display and exhibit positive actions for our child, but we must also help them in the learning process by taking time out of our day just to sit down and love/coach them for a second.
